Recently, while soaking up the laid-back vibes in Tulum with friends, we discovered an authentic Japanese sushi restaurant. As I reflected on how the atmosphere embodied the essence of Wabi-Sabi, one of my friends jumped in, mentioning the connection to the "wasabi style." It hit me when he accidentally said "wasabi" instead of "Wabi-Sabi" while describing one of the pieces in the restaurant. It made me realize how closely these words are connected, & was the inspiration for this blog post! So, let's dive into the world of Wabi-Sabi – that elusive Japanese design philosophy that somehow interlaces into the fiery world of Wasabi.
